First Aid Training for Journalists

Supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Timor-Leste Red Cross (CVTL) organized First Aid Training for journalists in Dare, Dili, Timor-Leste on 15-16 November 2016. The participants from TVE.T, Timor Post, Timoroman, Radio Liberdare, Radio LianFoinsae, and Radio Jojo FM were joined by CVTLBranch Coordinators from 13 districts. In this training, the participants learned about the basics of First Aid. Here are some pictures taken during the training.

30th June to 2nd of July, CVTL Baucau Branch held a Youth Camp. The 44 participants came from Baucau Municipality and it was a time to learn and enjoy. Different speakers covered topics such as Child Protection, Anti-smoking, a very interesting talk about perception and ways of viewing the world from the President of Baucau Branch, CVTL Facebook and the rules and regulations, history of Red Cross and importance of CVTL Emblem. Activities including a cleanup of the local school, ‘tug-o-war’ and cultural dancing. Many different branches hold these important events for the youth of CVTL.

  

  

  

 

  

 

Day, 16 August, 2017 CVTL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today with Metro Radio (SECOMS) – the community radio for Timor-Leste. CVTL will have a weekly program every Tuesday morning from 11-12 which will be repeated on Mondays. All our programs will be shared with all the Community Radios in all 13 Districts. This will be a great and fun way to share our activities and programs with Timor-Leste. Stay tuned... We start next week (22/8/17) 

 

 

 

On September 26, – 4 October 2017, the ICRC (International Committee of Red Cross) provides Training of Trainers for F-FDTL Instructors on INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW. Training will be conducted in Dili with 15 participants. The training was opened by the F-FDTL Chief of Staff, Colonel Falur Rate Laek. The training is delivered by Mr. Paul Baker, the ICRC Regional Delegate for Armed Forces.
